Specialised Courses

Based on experience with training courses delivered so far, INsig2 has developed additional specialised courses.

They were created based on our extensive experience and collaboration with a number of Clients who required additional skills to be developed for their experts. At the moment, three special courses are provided:
 
  • Train the Trainer
  • Managing Digital Forensics Lab
  • Object-oriented programming for digital forensic investigators
  • Scripting for Digital Forensic Investigator (SCRIPT)

 

1. Train the Trainer

 

Train the Trainers course is designed to help all digital forensic professionals prepare and deliver training to their colleagues at their workplace. This training will contribute to participants’ understanding of the role of the trainer and acquiring the basic skills and knowledge about the learning process. It will also help them understand the methodology and the process of transferring knowledge and skills to adults. Changing the role from trainee to trainer is crucial in this process. During the training, all participants will actively change their roles, and work on the assignment both as trainees and as trainers. The goal of the training is to make the participants feel comfortable in the role of the trainer and to increase their ability to recognize “good training practice” and the training process.

 

2. Managing Digital Forensics Lab

 

The course is designed for the existing and future Managers of digital forensic laboratories. This course includes the following topics: organization of digital forensic laboratories, selection of equipment for digital forensics, knowledge appropriate for digital forensic investigators and all related activities that will ensure efficient management and operation of digital forensic lab (dealing with evidence, quality assurance, control of the Forensic laboratory, organization of digital forensic collections and databases, principles and methods applied). Participants will also become familiar with the concepts such as International cooperation, exchange of results of digital forensic analysis and the requirements of ISO\IEC17025 quality standards for digital forensic.

The course objective is to introduce the existing and future managers of forensic laboratories with professional and organizational framework of functioning digital forensic labs.

 

3. Object-oriented programming for digital forensic investigators

 

The course is designed for participants without previous programming experience, but with experience in working with digital forensic software.

Participants will be provided an introduction to programing the computer, using programming language, acquiring basic knowledge and skills of the algorithms principles and programming, planning, preparation and execution of program code. Furthermore, they will acquire knowledge and skills in using different data structures, program control, operators, and will be provided an introduction to the concepts of Objects, Classes, and Inheritance as an object-oriented model of programming structure.

As a part of their assignment, participants will need to prepare small program segments in group and independently during the class, and will acquire practical skills that will help them start programming in any object oriented language (JAVA, C++, JavaScript, Python, EnScript). This course is essential for specialists in digital forensics willing to explore more possibilities in acquiring digital data from the large data sources.

 

4. Scripting for Digital Forensic Investigator (SCRIPT)

 

The course is designed for participants without previous programming experience, but with experience in working with digital forensics software.

Participants will be provided an introduction to programing the computer, using programming language, acquiring basic knowledge and skills of the algorithms principles and programming, planning, preparation and execution of program code. Furthermore, they will acquire knowledge and skills in using different data structures, program control, operators, and will be provided an introduction to the concepts of objects, classes, and inheritance as an object-oriented model of programming structure.
As a part of their assignment, participants will need to prepare small program segments both in group and independently during the class, and will acquire practical skills that will help them start programming in any object oriented language (JAVA, C++, JavaScript, Python, EnScript). This course is essential for specialists in digital forensics willing to explore more possibilities in acquiring digital data from the large data sources.

At the end of the course, all participants will take the exam and after successful completion will be given an official certificate for passing the course.
